TinyUSB and multiple USB Serial ports

by westfw on Mon May 24, 2021 9:10 pm

Suppose that I want to make an ItsyBitsy M0 into a 4-port USB/Serial converter, using tinyUSB (via Arduino).

How would that look? The tinyUSB examples seem to be a bit short when it comes to creating composite devices, and presumably I want to re-use the existing Adafruit core "Serial" implementation of all the tinyUSB callbacks and so on...
Can I still do this relatively "purely" within an Arduino sketch, or should I think about modifying the "core"?

Do you want four ports of USB or four ports of Serial?

Four ports of USB/CDC. (Well, both, but I know how to do the Sercoms...)

(actually, I'm discovering that I don't understand USBTiny - does it just have pre-existing drivers for the various services (CDC, MSC, HID), or does it allow new drivers to be "installed" dynamically at runtime?)
