I recently purchased 10 ItsyBitsy 32u4 5V 16mhz devices.
After following the setup guide here: https://learn.adafruit.com/introducting-itsy-bitsy-32u4
2 of the 10 units do not respond when connected, windows does not recognize the devices.
I found a posting that has my exact symptoms and the result there was to contact support via email.
The forum post: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=179347
Device manager shows the 2 as “Atm32U4DFU” under Other Devices. The device LEDs also do not flash like they should.
For the other 8, they connect under Ports (COM & LPT), USB Serial Device (COM6). LED flashes while connected.
Double pressing the reset button didn’t help, neither has holding it for 2 seconds.
I have tried manually assigning them as serial devices with both windows usbser drivers and specifying the devices as ItsyBitsy (800E:00) from your driver package, no luck here either.
Throughout testing and setup I used the same Micro USB cable for all devices and tried different cables with the 2 non functional devices with no luck.
Is there anything else I should try before considering these as DOA?

When you double pressed the reset button, the red LED still did nothing?
Also try this with one that works to verify the red LED behavior. It should pulse for a bit.

Yes, double pressing the reset button didn’t help.
On the 2 nonfunctional devices, the LED does not light up at all.
On the functional devices, the LED starts blinking right as it's plugged in and is properly identified in device manager.

OK, let's replace them. Send an email to [email protected] with a link to this thread and your order number and they can send you 2 new Itsy 32u4's.

Hey @MurdochRyan , just some info that'll help us - where did you order the boards from? Thanks.
