2124 (LiPo) on a 4888 (IB RP2040)?
Can I use the 2124 LiPoly Backpack on the new 4888 ItsyBitsy RP2040? It works fine on my 3800 M4 Express but need to be sure with the RP2040.

It should work fine. The backpack just provides a battery connection and charging capability. It's completely unrelated to the MCU on the board. The ItsyBitsy line of boards have a common pinout so the backpack will connect identically on any of them.
Make sure your battery is wired correctly. If you buy it from Adafruit it will be, but double check if you get it from somewhere else. Compare the wiring of the connector with photos in the shop, e.g. https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/970x728/2124-06.jpg.
