Setup Metro-Express ESP-S2 board, loaded CircuitPython with latest 6.01 librarys.

load /media/jfrancis/CIRCUITPY/esp32spi_simpletest.py into code.py
Fixed a couple of minor errors.
Now:

Auto-reload is on. Simply save files over USB to run them or enter REPL to disable.
code.py output:
ESP32 SPI webclient test
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "code.py", line 26, in <module>
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'ESP_CS'

That would be because esp32spi is for use with an esp32 used as a wifi coporocessor connected via a SPI bus. I.e. the airlift series of boards/breakouts.

Have a look at the Metro ESP32-s2 guide: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-metro-esp32-s2, specifically for this, the internat test page: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-metro-esp32-s2/circuitpython-internet-test.
