Pygamer

by craigcooper on Mon Oct 11, 2021 4:28 pm

My pygamer works seldom and when it does, the screen display is faint. I went on Youtube last night and saw what the display is supposed to look like. Mine has never looked like that. I have ordered a new one, but would like a replacement for the one I have as well.

Is the board otherwise running OK?

Can you post some photos so we can look for anything obviously wrong with the hardware.

Charging my phone and will send photos when available.

All green neopixels after a double reset

This sounds correct and good. Are you also seeing the PYGAMERBOOT folder showing up on your PC at the same time?

Cool. We can try a self test. Download the UF2 file linked from the green box at the top of this page:
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pyg ... shooting-2

Drag the UF2 file to the PYGAMERBOOT folder. It should reset once the copy is complete and run the example. Any change to the screen?

Is this a new Pygamer? It's been like this out of the box?

It is new. It has been like this out of the box. I have been trying to get this to work, assuming it was a working product. From time to time, the display will come on, faint and only for a short time.

OK, let's just replace it. Not sure what's going on, seems like something marginal, but probably not something easily user fixable.

Send an email to support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread and your order number and they can send you a replacement PyGamer (PID 4242).
