Metro M4 Express not recognized by PC

Post by eea213 »

I have two brand new Adafruit Metro M4 Express featuring ATSAMD51 and neither is being recognized when I plug into my computers. I've tried on two PCs and a Mac - the device does not appear in the device manager under "Ports," nor does it appear as a thumb drive in windows explorer or the Mac Finder.

I've followed all the instructions here: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-met ... nk-2854174

and I've selected "Adafruit Metro M4 (SAMD51)" from the drop down. I've also tried double-clicking the reset button to put it into the boot loader mode, and nothing changed on the PC (i.e. still not recognized). The LED did turn bright white on the board, so I'm assuming that did what it's supposed to.

Anything else I should do?

The first question is are you using a USB data cable, or just a power/charge cable?

Well that's embarrassing... Tried two different cables that I swore I've used for data transfer, but alas the 3rd cable works.

Hey, it happens. And they often aren't even subtly marked.
