METRO 328

Post by artst »

My students purchased the Arduino Starter Kit and it came with the Metro 328 board.
When they connected it to a computer with the usb cable, the usb connection did not show up under Port.
When they tried to upload, it gave them an error starting with avrdude.

The connection shows up on my personal laptop, but it is not showing on the university computer.

Is there a driver that needs to be installed?
What would be the solution so that the students can work from the university computer?

Thanks.

You might need to install the driver for the USB-to-Serial converter:

The Metro Mini uses all the same hardware, just in a smaller footprint.

We have mac computers and we did install the latest FTDI driver (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm), but it is still not recognizing the usb serial port. Is there anything else we could try? Thanks.

The Metro uses a CP2104 USB-to-Serial converter from SiLabs.

FTDI's driver is for a different device.

NO! My METRO clearly has a FTDI-231-X. I am still not able to connect any Macbook to this unit.

It is absolutely incorrect that this has a CP2104
