New Metro Express not working

Post by thoechst »

I just got a Metro Express and when I plug it in, I get only the green "On" led. No pressing (or double pressing) of the reset button does anything and the serial port is not recognized by my mac. All the online references that I can find suggest that it's the USB cable, but I have tried 5 different ones (all of which work fine with my particle photon). Can you suggest anything else that I can try? Thanks!

Connect the Metro to the Mac, open System Information, and select the USB tab. Do you see anything that looks like a microcontroller on the bus?

Thanks for your reply. No, it doesn't show in the USB section of the System Information. Nor does it show in Terminal with: ls /dev/cu*
Thanks.

If the USB cables work with another device, the microcontroller doesn't register as a USB device, and you don't get any response when double-clicking the reset button, something is wrong with the microcontroller.

Send a note containing a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement.
