Metro M0 Express low power / sleep mode

by ohm314 on Thu Jul 19, 2018 12:33 pm

Hi all,

I would like to use my Metro M0 Express(es) for a slightly longer data-logging run on batteries. So far I see that the power consumption is quite substantial. I was wondering if there is a way to put the board into sleep or power-save mode and how this is done. I was digging a bit through documentation but couldn't find anything on this topic.

Thanks a lot!

Take a look at the TPL5110 breakout:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/3435

It controls power to another circuit, and uses less than 100nA if you cut the trace to the power-on LED.

It's almost always easier and more efficient to use an external timer that way than to deal with microcontroller low-power modes. The issues involved in waking a chip up are usually more complicated than rebooting it.

Ah, nice! I didn't know about this. I'll look into it.

Thanks!
