METRO 328 height w/o header or barrel jack

by leef_me22 on Tue Feb 05, 2019 4:35 pm

***Can you update the product page for the 'unsoldered' METRO 328 version to add height for no header and no jack?

You have a METRO 328 product fully assembled
https://www.adafruit.com/product/50
Height (w/ barrel jack): 13mm / 0.5"

You have a separate METRO 328 product with the headers and barrel jack not soldered in place
https://www.adafruit.com/product/2466
Height (w/ barrel jack): 13mm / 0.5"

Lady Ada made a point of stating headers and jack were not soldered, and how thin the resulting board is.

You could grab the board files off of Github, load them into Eagle, and then measure it yourself..

@millercommamatt

Looks like the tallest components are PC1 & PC2 (same part)

What section (SCH or BRD) and what layer do I turn on to measure height?

I thought you could do it in 3D mode.

Anyway. Those caps are 5.4 mm tall if they still use the ones specified in the schematic and the PCB is 1.6 mm if it's typical thickness. So, 7 mm unless I'm wrong about everything.

Thank you for the feedback. I got similar dimensions from looking up similar parts based on CAP description.

I knew from previous experience that Eagle doesn't normally convey height information.
OTOH, some have added 'layers' to their Eagle designs to store non-standard info.
