Arduino IDE serial port not recognizing Grand Central M4

by kgrove on Wed Mar 17, 2021 4:34 pm

I just downloaded the Arduino IDE and have installed all necessary packages by following the lesson (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-gra ... rduino-ide).

When I go to the 'Blink' section about half way on the page it tells me to "Plug in the M0 or M4 board, and wait for it to be recognized by the OS (just takes a few seconds). It will create a serial/COM port, you can now select it from the drop-down, it'll even be 'indicated' as Trinket/Gemma/Metro/Feather/ItsyBitsy/Trellis!". I do exactly that, but I see nothing new in my 'Serial Ports' drop down.

Any suggestions?

Try pushing reset on the Grand Central, if that doesn't do it try double-pressing reset.

Got my code back after reloading CircuitPython. That was a little nerve wracking.

But I did both and still no serial port recognized in Arduino IDE.

Have you read through the guide? Specifically, the Arduino section. https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-grand-central

As for where did you code go... always have a copy somewhere not on the board.
