Can MakeCode be used with the Gemma? Very new to all this.

Hi, dabigleap!

Adafruit GEMMA M0 can be used with beta support in maker.makecode.com.

The original ATtiny85-based Adafruit GEMMA cannot, as it doesn't have enough memory/speed. You can program that board using the Arduino IDE.

I see in separate threads you're looking for Chromebook-compatible options. Arduino's online editor as of this writing does not support either GEMMA. (It supports a limited subset of available Arduino-compatible boards.)

Cheers,

Eric

Thanks Eric. "No" is an acceptable answer :) We have PCs we can access but the kids all have Chromebooks so I thought I would check.

Have you considered the Circuit Playground Express?

That is supported and will work with:

CPX works great in the classroom with Chromebooks, and, for some reason, gets increased enthusiasm from girls.
We’ve used Gemma’s as a final form for wearables after prototyping with CPX.
