How are published urls for makecode.adafruit.com made?

I noticed some urls for published (shared) use makecode.com and some use makecode.adafruit.com. How are the latter made?

Some examples:

• https://makecode.adafruit.com/96306-16030-88538-02778 from Automatic Cat Treat Dispenser
  https://makecode.com/_J644api0pMY6 from Make It Switch

When I use https://makecode.adafruit.com/ and hit share I see the same thing as on MakeCode for Circuit Playground Express / Saving and Sharing.

Ah, perhaps I can answer most of my own question there, the makecode.com ones redirect to makcode.adafruit.com. Is there any benefit in using one or the other?
