edge-connector breakout

New to Arduino development. Got Clue and want to prototype input to edge-connector. Any suggestions on a connecting pinouts to breadboard for development?

There are a few others too from the micro:bit ecosystem. I've used first two of these recently:

• KittenBot Robotbit (more than just an edge connector)
• Kitronik Edge Connector Breakout Board for BBC micro:bit (there's no pins on this one for i2c and the version that comes in the Inventor's kit has rubbery stuff on the bottom which blocks access to holes)
• KittenBot IOBIT V2.0

I'd also be cautious about plugging the CLUE in when it's powered on. On both edge connectors I've tried it has caused a board reset. I'd never do this with an edge-connected bus card and I'm not going to do it anymore with the micro:bit or CLUE!

I use Pimoroni's Pinbetween - not sure what the availability is outside the UK but is a very elegant and good value breakout. There are some other DIY kits available in the UK but they aren't a patch on Pinbetween's build.

Not exactly a breakout but looks like there's a micro:bit / CLUE edge connector to feather adapter on its way: Adafruit Top Secret! June 24, 2020 (YouTube).

FYI, Adafruit have just started selling the Kitronik Inventor's Kit designed for the BBC micro:bit - this includes their edge connector adapter/breakout and is physically compatible with the CLUE.

Update on the green "rubbery stuff" on the bottom of the Kitronik edge connector breakout. I was looking through the Inventor's kit manual and it turns out it is supposed to be removed and simply peels off.
