Hi,
We received our AdaBox015 earlier this week and got around to opening it and following along to the unboxing video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atENI3D_G4o). Unfortunately the Clue doesn't appear to power up (screen doesnt light up) like how it does at 15:41 in the video. As far as we could tell, we followed the instructions correctly but no luck. (batteries in battery case appear fine, battery case switch is on, cable from battery case is plugged in into the Clue).
Any tips on how to proceed further?
Thanks!
Vivek

Re: Clue not powering on
Try removing the battery and powering via a USB cable. What happens then?

Re: Clue not powering on
That worked, thanks for the tip!
The batteries are fine and the battery pack is fine, we checked the batteries and the voltage across the terminals in the 2-pin connector coming out the battery pack with a multimeter.
I am guessing this means the male connector on the CLUE is busted somehow?
Thanks again for your help!

Re: Clue not powering on
That does seem odd. What voltage did you actually measure on the 2-pin connector?
Can you post a photo of the back side of the CLUE so we can look for anything obvious with the hardware.

Thanks. That looks fine. If you plug in the battery and press the reset button, do you see anything on these two LEDs?

Re: Clue not powering on
I verified again that the batteries are fine. One thing I did notice is that while i did see a ~4.8V going into the back of the white connector, I wasn't able to detect anything on the underside of the connector or in the front of the connector. Not sure if that was because I was unable to make good contact or the connector is busted.

These tests are entirely on the battery lead JST connector? Nothing on the CLUE?

not sure what to test on the CLUE :)adafruit_support_carter wrote:These tests are entirely on the battery lead JST connector? Nothing on the CLUE?
fwiw i just tested voltage between the two terminals on the other end of the female jack (opposite to the end where the male plugs in) and see no voltage. not sure if that is an accurate test of anything useful though

That last voltage test was done here?

But you do see voltage here?
(sorry to keep asking for details, but it's an odd issue, so want to make sure we get it right)

Not on the output side of the white connector (assuming i am getting good contact) but I do see ~4.8V on the input side of the white connector .adafruit_support_carter wrote:But you do see voltage here?

Re: Clue not powering on
Hmmm, OK. In general it seems like it's just a matter of the battery power not reaching the CLUE. But whether that's an issue with the battery pack or the CLUE is still unknown.
Are the AdaBox 15 contents all you have available? Trying to think of some way we can help further determine where the issue is.
