Clue screen broken

by RaspberryPiDude314 on Sat Oct 03, 2020 5:52 pm

Hi, I got my Adabox in April, and I thought it was awesome! My CLUE was working perfectly fine. I used it for a couple of weeks, and then got distracted by some other projects. It's been about a month since I've used it last. When I turned it on today, half of the screen seems to be broken. ImageI'm not sure what's wrong, but I've tried everything I could think of. I'm powering it from USB (My projects require HID), so I tried using multiple computers with multiple good data cables. The Neopixels look normal. If it helps, I didn't use it with the pump(yet) so there's no water damage. It was kept in the anti-static bubble wrap it came in with no power source. I also don't know if I can still get a new one at this point, because it's been several months since I got it. If anyone knows what to do, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Adam

Please try running this test and post a photo of the results:

You don't need Arduino. You can just download the UF2 and install it as described.

OK, everything looks alright.
Also, this isn't very relevant, but when I was originally using it, the gesture sensor wasn't working, even with the original program.

When I said "Everything looks alright", I meant other than the screen lol

Thanks for running that test. Can you post a photo showing the backside of the CLUE. There are a few things there we can check.

So, the back looks normal. When I was doing my initial testing, I made sure the connector cable was plugged in all the way.

Yep. Thanks. The connector does look OK. That was the main thing to check on the back. And everything looks OK from what we can see.

Unfortunately since this was received back in April, it's past our normal 30 day return policy.

Can you correlate the failure to anything? Any affect seen when pressing down on the display?
