Temp/Humdity readings not even close

Post by systemgeek »

I got a brand new CLUE and first thing I did was use the default testing program which shows the Temp, Humidity ....

I have 3 other different Temp/Humidity sensors, all of which show the same values +/- 1 degree and +/- 1% to each other. When compared to the CLUE the clue is off about 30 degrees in Temp and almost 10% in Humidity.

Is there something wrong with the unit or do I need to apply a calibration value to the Temp/Humidity sensor?

What are the other sensors? Where are they located?

The humidity difference could be sensor to sensor, or even real, variation.

The temperature difference is more drastic. Could it be a units issue? Are you sure you are comparing C to C or F to F?

The other sensors are standard home battery powered Temp/Humidity sensors you can buy at like Walmart. They are nothing fancy and all 3 are from different companies. But they all show the same temp and humidity with in one degree and one percent of each other.

I placed all 3 on a small table within an inch of each other then plugged in the CLUE and hung it over the table at the same level as the other sensors and within an inch of them. I hung it up so that it would not be effected by the tables' thermal value. The Walmart sensors are all in cases and I am hoping thermally separated from the surface they are sitting on.

Yes I am measuring C to C.

Can you link to the specific program you are running on the CLUE.

This one:

That should be fine for basic sensor reading.

Can you post a photo of what your CLUE screen looks like running that code.

Does the temperature value change at all? If you breathe on it for example?

That was the program I was using.

I will upload screen shots as soon as I can.
