CLUE Washed Out Colors

I'm coming around on my projects and was working on Adabox015 - the hand washing timer (https://learn.adafruit.com/no-touch-han ... -and-clue/). However, the bitmaps/text are washed out. Otherwise, the unit works fine and colors are clear. Maybe a circuitpython issue? I read some similar issues in the forum but didn't really see an answer outside of getting a replacement unit. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have you tried adjusting brightness?

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
clue.display.brightness = 0.0

clue.display.brightness = 0.8


Does the same test pattern look just as washed out?

Can you try this test pattern? Let me know if you have an issue downloading the UF2.

Please also try running the four UF2 test files from here:
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=168145&start=45#p825094
and see if you get similar output as shown here:
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=168145&start=60#p825486

I see a blue tab on the screen protector. Discussed at tail end of Clue display color issue.

Good eye, yes I have the "blue" tab (and would happily take the blue pill right about now)

Not sure what I'm looking for, but it seems they came out fine. Just a little dithering because of the camera.
