Porting the Clue Pyloton software to an Adafruit Linux watch

Post by Peter_Gamma »

This is a feature request, to develop the Pyloton further. Make an open source Adafruit Linux sports watch out of it:

The market leader Garmin has a proprietary .fit file format, sensor data can only be streamed to Garmin connect, and then exported as .csv. files. This makes data access diffult. So many tried to solve this problem, started again, and again a new project, but as far as i know there is no community which works on the project with the greatest potential, which is the Adafruit Pyloton open source bike computer:

Furthermore, most Garmin devices uses the ANT+ protocol, which requires an ANT+ usb stick. For a Linux phone or a Linux watch, it is easier to use BLE. No ANT+ stick necessary. I miss an open source sports Rasperri PI, Linux phone or Linux watch from Adafruit. Adafruit is a leader in BLE, and could become a leader in BLE open source sports devices.
