No Clue - Order Confirmation No: 2571372-4479194093

Post by rudy_713 »

Hello.
I recently subscribed to AdaBox as a gift and also ordered the AdaBox 16.
We powered up the Clue. Immediately, it only rendered on half of the screen. We recycled and now the screen shows nothing.
I reached out to AdaFruit but they said to post here. I've never had to make a warranty claim with any other companies this way but here goes. I hope that this is not indicative of future problems with future AdaBoxes.

AdaFruit. Please advise my next steps.

My original email:
Hello.
I received my AdaBox 16 today, thank you very much. Very cute project. However, there is an issue with the Clue board. When I first powered it up, the screen only rendered half way. I cycled the power and now it won’t display anything at all.
I’m hoping that there is an easy fix that you’re aware of. I wanted to check with you first before tinkering with it.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Rudy

Thanks for the note! Our colleagues in the engineering and technical support forums will assist you with this type of question: http://www.adafruit.com/forums/. They are also able to authorize replacements if necessary.

Please click on the most appropriate forum then click “Post a Topic” to create a new post.
Here are some tips to help you place your support post:

1) Tell us what product you are asking about, your Adafruit order number, and when you purchased the item.
2) Post clear photos, focused, and detailed pictures of the front and back of the boards, as well as any connections to the board.
3) For software issues, please post the complete text of your IDE's error message. Please use the

Code: Select all

tag when posting error message as well as code.
4) If you are having trouble with a code sketch, please post or link to your entire source code. Again, please use the [code] tag when posting code.
5) If you are building a project from the Learning System, please post a link to the page you are having difficulty with.
6) Please create a new post in the forums instead of piggybacking on an existing topic. If you do see other threads with similar questions or issues referring to them in your post can help and is greatly appreciated!

Great photos, thanks! There doesn't look to be anything obviously wrong (which can often be easily fixed and you don't have to wait unnecessarily), so please email [email protected] with a link to this thread, your order number, and request the replacement of one CLUE.

Thank you.
I received the replacement and it's working properly.
However, I'm guessing that the AdaBox had a preloaded program on the Clue. I did some extensive Googling but found nothing. Is there a link where I can download this code to upload to the Clue?

Have look here: https://learn.adafruit.com/adabox015/demo-code I'm thinking the first one (adabox15_demo.uf2) is what you're looking for.
