Feature request: Clue Step counter stream to Adafruit IO

Post by Peter_Gamma »

with foot pod support. ANT+ and BLE foot pods are very accurate, as shown in this review about the Stryd:

https://fellrnr.com/wiki/Stryd

the most accurate is the Stryd, which does not need to be calibrated. But a callibrated foot pod is as accurate as a Stryd, and more accurate as GPS. Matlab already has an example with a food pod:

https://ch.mathworks.com/help/matlab/im ... vices.html

Matlab is difficult to use for mobile applications. Adafruit has a wrist based step counter:

I compared wrist based step counting once to the android app a training tracker from Dr. Ing. Rainer Blind, which counts the steps from a foot pod:

https://github.com/rainerblind/aTrainingTracker

to have an alternative to the almost non hackable Garmin devices, I miss the following device:

a Clue step counter:

connected to:

https://learn.adafruit.com/bluetooth-le ... ifi-bridge

connected to:

An Adafruit IO based alternative to the closed source Garmin eco system would be highly desirable. This device could be combined with the other devices I suggested here in the Adafruit forum.
