FUNHOUSE BETA 12

Post by ksprayberry »

I finally caught the information a little better. It still shows to be offline, but is going through all the lighting steps. Cyan to blue to amber. Then after a while it reboots.

Re: FUNHOUSE BETA 12

Here are the steps I used to reinstall the FunHouse UF2 and connect to io.adafruit.com. From https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-fun ... bootloader (with corrections):
1) Reboot your PC so it will recognize the USB port
2) in adafruit.com download tinyuf2-adafruit_funhouse_esp32s2-0.5.2
3) unzip the above into a folder
4) on funhouse hold down BOOT and click RESET
5) open https://adafruit.github.io/Adafruit_WebSerial_ESPTool
6) Connect it to the serial port shown in device manager for the ESP32
7) Erase the flash
8) Select the unzipped file combined.bin from 3 above
9) Program the flash (still in the WebSerial_ESPTool)
10) Now you should see HOUSEBOOT as a file system on your computer
11) Download wippersnapper.funhouse_tinyusb.1.0.0-beta.12 from github
12) Drag the file from 11 to HOUSEBOOT. Now the directory is called WIPPER
13) Edit secrets configuration file with io and wifi info
14) go to io.adafruit.com/<yourname>/dashboards/ and click on wippersnapper on the top
15) you should now see the funhouse device listed as Adafruit Funhouse ESP32-2
16) click on it and you should be able to add the PIR and button components.

I plan on trying it as soon as I get home tomorrow. I tried something similar, but I think I need to follow this step by step. I can’t help but think it’s something I’m doing wrong. PEBKAC problem exists between keyboard and chair.

I tried and I could not get this to work. Maybe I missed a critical step or something in this process, but it didn't work either. I did however have good success with an esp32 Huzzah last night. I was able to program it and use it with my credentials and It came up and showed to be online right away. I even ran the led routine and it seemed to work well. I wonder if there is something wrong with my funhouse board?
Thanks
Kelly

You're connecting to the same 2.4GHz network with both the FunHouse and the ESP32Huzzah?

Yes, using the same network for both. I can't help but think something isn't quite right with the funhouse now. I tried to load the dragon eye thing last night. I tried to load the spooky dragon eye.uf2 last night and it didn't seem to work, so I loaded the circuit python over and it seemed to take, but when I resent it with the double click and try to load the dragon eye, it just copied it to the USB. maybe I'll try erasing it again and starting over.

thanks
kelly
