Re: Safe Box - x0xb0x EEPROM backup & restore
Just a quick update guys...
I'm still alive, and so are SafeBox and K0ntr0l...
I had to relocate from Australia to my home country (France) to address serious health issues. Things are on the up, but I am still in a financially precarious situation - and will be until I am fit enough to earn a living. Most of my belongings are in a storage facility on the west coast of Australia... This includes the desktop PC on which I was doing all my development activities, and my cherished x0xb0x (as well as many other electronic contraptions which I sorely miss ).
I could only take 20 kgs with me when I left, so I had to compromise... Luckily I took a couple of external drives, one of which I am pretty sure contains a recent backup of all my x0xb0x-related work (read: source-code).
I currently only have access to a Dell Mini 9, which I doubt will be able to run Visual Studio. If any of you guys have copies of the Safeb0x binaries, feel free to host them.
For info, there were hundreds of downloads of Safebox and zero donations. My hosting costs were small, but I simply cannot justify them for the time being. I hope this will change in the near future (hardware and/or server space donations are always welcome )
I need to sort through all my backups and see exactly what I've got. In due time I might open source (if not all at least some of) the code I developed (at the very least the libraries used to communicate with the b0x). They may prove useful to the community, if only for education purposes

Hey joolz
Sorry to hear about your health, get well soon.
Im also sorry i didnt donate, no one did in fact; thats a bit poor
Im selling some stuff on ebay and will send you a bit when i get the funds. i also fully intended to buy the k0ntr0l app, and still do. (im dying for it tbh, loads of ABL patterns to transfer, and saving and rearranging them would be a godsend for live tbh)!.
I can also donate some (a healthy amount) and webspace and bandwidth, it will be a whatever.dreamhosters.com address. i could set up and or transfer any you might have to the space? Im a bit clueless with webstuff TBH but can set you up the space and let you get on with it.
PM me if interested
Cheers
Ben

Re: Safe Box - x0xb0x EEPROM backup & restore
Hi,
I think I found a big bug:
I saved very often with safebox to save my work (over weeks).
One day I clicked "cancel" in the save-process (by accident) and ALL MY BACKUPS were gone!!!
Can you confirm this?
And a Question: Where is the safebox-bakup located? I want to save this folder (for the reason above)
but I could not find it on my disc!
It would be good if there was a hint in the program where the backup-data is located!
Tnx
