Firmware upgrade from OSX in 2021?

by devn on Tue Mar 30, 2021 5:42 pm

Hello,

I am trying to put MarOS or SokkOS on my x0xb0x. Can I do this from OS X? Will k0ntr0l run under wine? Any help would be appreciated. I am a bit nervous about bricking my x0x0b0x.

The forums are telling me that cOnbOx (with 0s) is a banned word. These forums are really hard to use.

From what I've been able to piece together, conbox is the best option.

I'm putting together a collection of working links since these forums are a real pain to find things in, and there are a lot of old and dead links.

- You'll need these drivers to connect to x0x0b0x using cOnbOx: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/

- cOnbOx 1.02 (unofficial client) can be found here: https://www.rv0.be/news/cOnbOx-1.02-OSX-unofficial
NOTE: You'll need to replace the O's in c-nb-x with 0's.
The original author of cOnbOx has a website here where you can download older versions, and the windows version here: http://antonsavov.net/

- SokkOS 2.0 beta[1] can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=19336

- MarOS 1.5 beta[1] can be found here: viewtopic.php?t=33914

- I could not find a working download link for k0ntr0l, but it has been open sourced. https://github.com/julienchevalley/k0ntr0l

[1]: I was unable to locate stable versions of these. Perhaps the thread name is just beta but the files were updated with stable versions? If you know, please reply.
