Anyone else having this problem?
Yes, it's "normal", see:

I made the OSX port of BANNED, wasn't aware of the old version giving problems.

A newer version of BANNED is pretty much ready. its just not released yet because there's some funky stuff to be included that opens up new features for n0nx0x2.
Feel free to mail me at rv0soft at gmail, I can give you the newer version which probably works.
I just updated to El Capitan, I'll test asap and update if needed.

Is there a new version for OSX that I could get? My BANNED on Yosemite is just crashing all the time before I get to see the program. I also don't see an 'Unknown USB Device' under my USB Device Tree when I connect my x0xb0x to my mac through USB. It used to work, but that was 2 years ago, probably on a previous OSX version. Anybody knows what to do?

we're working on a complete rewrite, this time using wxWidgets
so far we got support for both bootloaders (the original one, for the atmega162, as well as the cpumod - x0xb00t2.x)
the actual firmware-related features are not implemented yet, so you can't backup/restore your patterns, but you can flash a firmware with this

as for the port name, on osx, maybe this would help:
http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documen ... _Guide.pdf (from page 4)

Code: Select all

cd /dev
ls -l
and look for something like "/dev/tty.usbserial-BANNED"
if you don't see it, then something might have gone wrong

As people mail me regularly for it, I posted a working OSX version on my site:
