or three...
but I think I'll limit these kits to 40 or 50pcs. I'm not sure yet.

Hey man

Do you have a ball park cost for the kit in mind? And a very rough idea of when? Just so I can try to plan finances.

You can pm me if youd prefer.

Looks really cool man. How many instruments (or more specifically audio outputs) are there in total?

Ive got a dead old mixer which would make a great enclousre for this pls a midibox sequencer.

Awesome, thanks, Ben

I think this kits will cost about 50 - 55 euro plus shipping. it's just the PCB and a bunch of rare ICs and transistors.
you can build your machine with individual outputs plus master out or just with the master output. if you want individual outs for all instruments you'll need 12 mono jacks (plus 2x mono jack for master out)
the enclosure can be made from anything... wood, metal, plastic (maybe an old C64 case?) and you can do your own design on the frontplate.
my own enclosure will be made from aluminum (just like the alu-x0xb0x case)

a frontplate could probably look like this:

I think in about 3-4 weeks I should have everything together.

cheers,
Sub

Wow, thanks man. Thats excellent news, and a greta price, thanks!

Thanks for the mockup panel too, perfect, gives a really clear indication of what it does. 51 pots and 13 switches

Im stoked. I was well up for the midibox808 project, but that went pear shaped.

Thanks so much for doing this.
Cheers
Ben

Hopefully I'm not premature on this one..... but do you have the dimensions of the PCB and placement of mounting holes?

so is this a pcb with the pots on it or pots mounted to the panel and wired to pcb?

the PCB is 300mm x 160mm and the pots are not on the board. pots on the board was my first thought, but I was unable to find all values :?
so every pot must be mounted to the frontplate and wired to the board. all the extra pots (extra filter, extra decay, extra tuning an so on) are optional, if you want the original sound from the 808 you can drop the amount of pots to just 20pcs.

later I'll supply the EAGLE file for download, but I'll wait for the PCBs first to see if everything is perfect.

Hi,

This looks great and I'm definitely up for a kit.
I have a MIDIbox Seq4 with trigger outs and this could be the perfect companion.

Will keep an eye on this thread.

Top job!

Hi Substyler,

great work! I would be in for a kit, too. Frontplate would also be nice, if you plan to produce them in numbers.
Would it by any chance be possible to add the DR-110 Clap to the board, or to replace the original clap in any way?
Thanks a lot!

Nils
