USB Micro-B Breakout Board error when connecting to any comp

by jeremiahlandi on Wed Nov 06, 2019 11:33 am

Hello All,

I have the following setup: USB Micro-B Breakout Board -> Adafruit HUZZAH32 – ESP32 Feather Board

Currently, when I plugged the USB Micro-B Breakout Board into any computer I get a USB read error. I have tried plugging directly into the Feather and the device reads without any issues.

I am trying to see where a good starting place for triaging these boards would be? I am thinking it isn't the solder job; I have tried soldering multiple boards and get the same issue across boards with different cables.

Right now I have cut the ends off of two Micro USB-B cables and wired them in the following: GND = BLK; D+ = WHITE; D- = GREEN; VCC = RED

I don't have anything populated in the ID port on the board; not sure if that is a big deal or not but the cables do have shielding I could solder in place. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Post a phot showing your hardware and connections and we'll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.
