Adafruit Capacitive Touch Hat

by laddius1 on Mon Nov 04, 2019 4:58 pm

Is there a tutorial to setup the Adafruit Capacitive Touch Hat the way it is shown on the product page? The old YouTube video said a detailed tutorial was in the works, but I haven't been able to find anything. Was looking to make this as a gift for my kids, I am completely new to DIY electronics so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Adam

Hi Adam,

I see that the MPR121 guide supports several configurations so it is a little buried for the hat configuration. If you are planning on using CircuitPython this should get you going with wiring and require software setup:

Hello, if someone could answer my question it would be really nice.

This question is related to someone elses project, a drum/music finger machine. You can find it here. https://www.instructables.com/id/Raspbe ... s/#discuss

So I downloaded the beetbox file and ran it on my computer and it came up with this error.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/pi/BeetBox-master/beetbox.py", line 22, in <module>
mpr121.setup(0x5)
File "/home/pi/BeetBox-master/mpr121.py", line 74, in setup
bus.writ_byte_data(address, ELE_CFG, 0x00)
OSError: [Errno 121] Remote I/O error

Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

I'm also using all the same gear in step 8 except I'm not using the speaker.
