Silent switch for Adafruit foot pedal, does it exist?

by Elmsy on Sun Jul 25, 2021 11:28 am

I am currently making a foot pedal that controls the enter key of my PC. I've got it all set up and it's working, but unfortunately it's a bit too loud. We don't have a study and the constant loud click of me pushing the foot pedal is driving my wife insane. I've looked for a silent switch everywhere that would fit in to the foot pedal but haven't had any success. Any ideas what would suit (if there is anything).

The foot pedal I have is the same as the one at https://www.adafruit.com/product/423 and the photo below.

We don't have anything that would be a direct replacement. You would need to do a bit of engineering to work one of these soft tactile switches into the pedal: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3101
You could also try an FSR: https://www.adafruit.com/?q=fsr&sort=BestMatch
