Appears shorted

by MikePOP on Mon Aug 02, 2021 8:34 am

I purchased a Inductive charging set - 3.3v @500ma. I connected it to a current limited supply set to 9v. It drew over 1A (the limit I had set), and the current limiting on the supply dropped it to 1.8V. There apparently is a short somewhere on the board. How can I submit for a replacement item. Order number 262151.

That is unusually high. For the sake of sanity testing, could you post a photo of how you had things connected when you did the test please?

800x600 images usually work best.

I have attached some photos. I applied power briefly with limiting removed to show the high current draw. The 5 ohms across the xkt-335 seems low.

Thanks. Does any component on the PCB get hot?
