Hi there, I recently purchased, from a supplier here in UK, the Adafruit Audio FX sound board +2x2W Amp WAV/OGG Trigger 16MB to use for a cosplay project. I've wired in a 3xAAA battery holder and a single speaker to the board. The green power LED lights up and the speaker seems to work as well because when I connect it up via usb to my computer, the speaker emits a single audible beep.
My computer picks it up fine and I've loaded the adafuit test audio files to it, correctly named with no issues. However when testing the triggers (before i solder in my buttons) none of them play any audio. The red Act LED also does not light up.
I've tested each of the triggers with a multimeter to ground to check the circuit and they all seem ok. Any ideas why I might not be hearing any sound?
Many thanks in advance.

How, exactly, are you testing the triggers?

Hi,
I've tried touching a wire between each of the triggers and the ground.
Also with the two pins of the multimeter

I don't know how relevant testing using the meter is, but connecting the triggers to ground should work. Note that you can't trigger sound while there is a USB data connection, though I do see you have it battery powered.
