We have looked at Zephyr, but have not used it. We were wondering if it might be the basis for an RTOS for CircuitPython. Currently CircuitPython does not use an RTOS.

There is a Zephyr port of MicroPython.

TinyUSB, which we use, can work with our without an RTOS, and supports several.

The ESP-IDF software used on the ESP32 and ESP32-S2 boards uses FreeRTOS internally.
