Using the foot switch sold on adafruit.. Can I?..

I speedrun video games, one of the most unintuitive things involved is hitting the split timer with my hands while ive got like 2 second between stages. Can i keybind this footpedal to, lets say, an F key? Is it complicated, is there any additional tech needed, and is this footpedal USB wired?

is just a switch.

It is not USB wired, but you can use it do what you want. You'd need to incorporate a micrcontroller to do the switch-to-USB interfacing. Check these projects out:

The main component to make that work is out of stock, thats not terribly useful. :\

Appears that all items needed for first guide are in stock. For out of stock items there's a 'NOTIFY ME' button you can use.
