PiTFT Plus 480x320 3.5"

Post by dichkinn »

I’ve got purchased a PITFT 3.5 2441.
I’ve got readed your tutorial

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... q?view=all

I’ve got downloaded the image full, lite 23 sept 2016 and I tried it with:
A RPI zero W
RPI 3
RPI 2+
RPI 2
But the screen remain White.
So I’ve got downloaded an old version of image, since 2016-03-25 with the same result.

Can you Help me ?
Thank you very much.

Kind regards

Try starting with the latest version of Raspbian:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

Then add PiTFT support on top of it using the instructions from the Easy-install page. There have been several hardware changes in the PiTFT line in the last year, and the preconfigured OS images are mostly for historical purposes these days.

Post a photo showing the back of the PiTFT where the flex cable enters the connector, along with the output from `dmesg` please.

800x600 images work best, and text output is easier to read between CODE tags.

There are also some problems in the dmesg output you posted. None of the kernel drivers for the TFT or the touchscreen are there.

Try installing PiTFT support again, using the instructions here:

The output from dmesg does show the drivers for the PiTFT and touchscreen, so that much is good.

In the photo, the black tabs at both ends of the flex cable connector are loose:

Make sure the flex cable is in the connector as far as it will go, then push the tabs toward the connector to lock the cable in place.
