PITFT Plus stacking

Post by robertdcurrier »

Need to have a protoboard stacked on the Pi to hold circuitry. Can the PITFT Plus be stacked using the stacking header? If not, can it use a standard GPIO cable without signal loss so that the display can be mounted on separate plate? Thanks!

Sure, with the obvious limit that the display won't look very good under another PCB.

It's just fine to swap the layers though.. extra PCB between the RasPi and PiTFT, connecting both with stacking headers.

Thanks, and, errrrr, I wasn't thinking of sandwiching the display between boards, LOL. I was thinking PI, protoboard, GPS hat and then display, but worried about blocking the GPS patch antenna so am likely to go PI, protoboard, GPS hat and GPIO cable to display mounted on bezel above the other components. This project will be going in a Pelican 1200 or similar container. Thanks again.
