Defective PowerBoost 500 Basic

Post by jmad »

Hi,

I recently purchased the PowerBoost 500 Basic - 5V USB Boost @ 500mA from 1.8V+ PRODUCT ID: 1903. I have attached pictures to show that I have not damaged it. When I connect the battery (fully charged) even with no load the battery low indicator intermittently turns on. Also the current draw on the battery immediately spikes to about 2A. I believe this is defective and would like a new one shipped asap if possible.

Thanks

What resistance do you see between the BAT and GND pins when everything is disconnected from the PowerBoost?

Thank you. That sounds like a short in the boost converter's main switch.

Send a note containing a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement PowerBoost 500 Basic.
