Hello,
Order# 1730114-9212598134 (4/4/18)
Running Win10 64bit on MS surface
I can't calibrate AR1100 with either 3.7" or 7" touch screen. Tried multiple USB cables and (2) PCs (other Win7 64bit)
1. Open AR Configuration Utility
2. Start Wizard.
3. Select AR1100 Dev Kit
4. Select USB and HID-Generic
5. Next
5. Next
I always get error "Error: Could not change mode to HID/Mouse. Verify the AR1100 is properly attached" (just like post: 7" Touchscreen issue
AR1100 won't calibrate

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
Looks like it's saying you've set a 5 wire configuration. Try setting sensor type to 4 wire:

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
That's the error i get when i use "Start Wizard". However, even if i use Manual Setup:
Communication: AR1100 USB Mouse
Sensor Type: 4 Wire
Calibration: 9-Point
I get the same error

Hmmm. Do you get the red LED behavior described here:
https://learn.adafruit.com/ar1100-resis ... help#faq-1
and maybe also try the fix suggested there as well.

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
Tried that, but mouse was already selected...and I got the same error message. The red light blinks faster when i touch it, but only when i press hard. Also, the mouse will move, but again only when i press hard. If i hold my finger still, the cursor jumps around (as if there is a lot of noise?) Finally, it doesn't respond like my laptop touch pad where i can slide my finger to one side, pick it up, then slide it in the same direction some more to continue to move across the screen...It always jumps the mouse to an absolute x,y position relative to the touch pad.

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
Can you post a photo showing how you have this hooked up with your screen. Since you're having issues with both, you can just pick one for testing and show that.

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
Is there a wrong way to hook this up? There is one port to plug in the screen, and another port to plug in the USB cable...with the other end of the USB cable plugged into my laptop. I tried flipping the screen cable upside down for both screens, but it still had the same response. Is there something in particular I'm supposed to zoom in on? Remember, the screens work, but only press really hard...could it be a faulty AR1100?

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
If there is nothing wrong in the picture, could I please get a replacement, or a phone number to speak with someone live? One question per day is causing this to take a very long time.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
pressing hard is normal, its a resistive not capacitive screen. usually you need to use a fingernail or a plastic stylus! make sure the back of the overlay is flat against a table or other flat surface so it doesnt get cracked :)

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
Hello,
did you solve this issue? I have the same problem described above with a "HDMI 7" 800x480 Display Backpack - With Touchscreen" (product 2407):
- "ERROR: Could not change mode to HID..." or "Could not change mode Mouse..."
- Red LED blinks fast when touching the screen
- I have tested it with 3 different PCs with the same result (Windows 8 and Windows 10)
Thank you,

does it show up in Device manager? can you paste the output from the AR configuration program?

I send you a couple of screenshots:

Obviously I've tried to restart the computers a lot of times :P
Thank you

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
we dont know why this sometimes happens - does the mouse work overall? try using manual setup not wizard?

Re: AR1100 won't calibrate
I think that it is configured as digitizer, instead of mouse mode. It works in Windows, but in linux it is detected as a touchpad, instead of a mouse/touchscreen.
I would also like to calibrate it, and it is not possible.
Thank you
