computer adjustable power source

Post by rdieter »

I need a chip, or chip set, that can deliver computer adjustable output power from a 225 volt source. It must be able to deliver from about 50 volts to about 200 volts. I need to be able to control this output via parallel port or I2C or the like. the output current will be fairly low. Any suggestions as to what might work?

We don't carry anything that works in that voltage range, and I don't know of any high-voltage bench supplies that would fit the bill. Most standard transistors only work up to about 60V, and high-voltage transistors usually stop around 150V. It takes specialized components and techniques to work at higher voltages.

Your best bet would be to check with a university physics department and see what suggestions they have. They do a lot of high-voltage work, and will have a better idea of what's available.
