LED matrix not responding

by Plzavailable on Thu Dec 27, 2018 11:48 pm

I recently bought a (now discontinued) 32x32 matrix kit here: https://www.adafruit.com/product/3273. I am using a Raspberry Pi Model 3 A+. In the command prompt, I've installed everything per the tutorial(https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-rgb-matrix-plus-real-time-clock-hat-for-raspberry-pi/downloads?view=all), and no error messages were found. After plugging everything in, I put in the command
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
sudo ./demo -D0 --led-rows=32 --led-cols=32
. It responds as it should, no errors. However, the LED board does literally nothing. No flashing of LEDs, no violent explosions, nothing. There are no observable issues other than the board, you know, not doing anything. I've checked my wiring multiple times, nothing wrong with it. I'm at my wit's end, support would be greatly appreciated. Another thing to be noted is this is my first post on the forum; I've never had issues with Adafruit products in the past. Let me know if I did anything wrong, and I will change it as soon as I can.

Can you post some pictures of your soldering and the boards connected together?

Can you post front and back of the board so we can see the soldering? Otherwise, your connections look correct.

Hello, I will post more detailed pics tomorrow. I apologize, it seems whenever you post, I am asleep. Maybe we are in different time zones. I digress. I'll post in depth pics of the 40 pin female headers, IDC plug, and voltage thing with the screws(I am not sure what it's called, lol). Thanks for the help.

If everything is by letter as the instructions in https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-rgb ... s?view=all

and the matrix does not respond with the command "sudo ./demo -D0 --led-rows=32 --led-cols=16 " (or something like this ) . Then i would try to check:
1- the overclocking in my raspberry
2-the python version that i m using

Mine works ok

I am having a similar problem...

I was following the set up for 'Driving Matrices' and was following along great. I even got many of the demos to work as expected. I'm not sure what happened, but my screen started to malfunction.

Currently, the screen has a random line of pixels lit up in red, even when I am not running any of the demo applications. When I try to run one of the demo applications, the
line turns into a different block of red.

Please help. Not sure if i need to get my board replaced.
