Solenoid lock parts and schematics

by jcintron on Mon Feb 11, 2019 2:14 pm

These are noob questions, but here goes... Trying to find a list of all of the parts needed, minus the raspberry pi (already have it), to complete the project in https://learn.adafruit.com/remote-contr ... -door-lock. Also is there a schematic of where to connect each part to get this to work? I am trying to do a quick prototype for a school project.

There's a list of parts along the right side of the tutorial pages. All of them are clickable links to the product pages in the shop, or you can just hit the 'Add to cart' button on each image.

There's a schematic for the solenoid connections on this page:

https://learn.adafruit.com/remote-contr ... -door-lock

and a link to the power mosfet Marco used for the tutorial.

We don't have any tutorials that show the connections between the fingerprint sensor and a RasPi, but in general terms it's a Serial connection. You'd use the TX and RX pins on the RasPi's GPIO header.

The CiruitPython code from this tutorial should also work on a RasPi:

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-opt ... cuitpython

This tutorial shows how to set up CircuitPython on a RasPi:

Thanks for the response... After I posted the message I found the parts list. I already have a RasPi with the FP sensor connected and working properly, so what I need now is how to assemble the BreadBoard and then how to control the solenoid from the Pi
