Arduino ScoreBoard

by justamar on Tue Mar 09, 2010 1:30 pm

Hello Hello, So I'm working on a score board for my air hockey table i built! (Yay DIY)so.... i picked up some Infrared LED emitter and detector from http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... cts_id=241, As well as a display from sparkfun aswell, that is compatible with the arduino, Anayway besides resistors, wire, and a power supply do you think theres any other hardware that I will need? When the puck travels through the sensors wave, the state of the sensor changes, this change will momentarily change the values on the output--->input of Arduino, The arduino finds this change then displays a number corresponding to the amount of scores the player has, and the one that they just received. Simple Right?

a switch to reset the score maybe? Sparkfun has some nice looking push buttons:

What do you mean by wiper? To reset the score? If thats the case you'd have to write some code to reset the value to character 0 for your display. Are you using a Digit LED or a LCD screen?
