The folder WordClock_NeoMatrix8x8 doesn’t go into your sketchbook/libraries folder. It’s a collection of sketches that run the Word Clock, not files that get #included in other sketches.

Move it back out to the sketchbook folder and things should work.

Make sure you have the timing right when you press the reset button. The red LED on the Pro Trinket needs to be pulsing when the Arduino IDE is ready to upload the firmware.

The green led is on solid, and the red led flashes 4 times, short pause, 4 flashes, short pause, etc.

That probably means you have a sketch that blinks the LED loaded into firmware.

The Pro Trinket bootloader should pulse the red LED for 10 seconds after you press the reset button.

Now for some reason the red LED pulses when I plug the USB into the computer.
It keeps pulsing as long as the USB is plugged in. If I press the reset button
the red LED goes dark and resumes pulsing when the reset is released.
Still get the error when I try to upload when the red LED is pulsing.

Post a photo showing your hardware and connections and we’ll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I don't have the CR1220 battery installed on the RTC yet.
I should have the battery tomorrow or tuesday.
Attached are the photos of the boards.

It looks like you have a blob of solder across the resistor next to the connections on the NeoPixel matrix.

Clear that away and see if anything changes.

I installed the battery but the error is still there.
I also tried uploading some example sketches, and I keep getting the same error.

It looks like it does not see the usb port.
Any ideas ?

Thanks
