Star Trek Dicovery Tricorder

by AIRWUF on Wed Jun 05, 2019 2:48 pm

Hi,

I just found Adafruit and I think you can help me with a project I am working on. I an 3d printing a replica of the Star Trek Discovery Tricorder and I want it to do something other than just blink. Actually, I do want it to blink and also do something like some of the boards you carry. I am not an electronics wizard and any help is welcome. My working area for electronics is: 3 x 5 inches and 1.5 inches deep. Can you suggest what Adafruit products will bring this prop to life? What I really want is a way of showing video files of Star Trek related displays like animated stars displays and such. I am attaching a site that gives you an idea of what I am trying to make.

Thanks for the quick response. I have seen this video and did not consider it for my project. Maybe I was too hasty in doing that. Anybody ekse got any ideas?

I What I am looking for is an Adafruit product (or products) that will allow me to 1) save and run videos and sounds on a 2 x 1.05 inch screen or touch screen. Should I be looking at Raspberry Pi for this project?

I found the Star Trek Communicator project but, I am making a tricorder. A different device with different functions. I need a 2 x 2.5 inch screen that will show both video and sounds. It also must have random blinking led's. Can you provide the parts for this project?

I am looking for a simple answer. Does Adafruit have a 2.5 display screen that can show video files and sound? Or video on one card and sound on another card?

Sorry to disagree with you but, I found this in your inventory and it is exactly what I was looking for to start this project

I do not mean to insult you but, you should review your inventory before you answer a post

Those may be moving images derived in software but it is not video and the sound is not coming from the display but from a separate device.
