Bluefruit to send wirelessly to Windows

by mrsmith13 on Thu Jun 13, 2019 2:43 pm

Hello,

I have an Adafruit Feather M0.

I have been able to send data wirelessly to the companion Bluefruit app, however I would prefer to see the data sent wirelessly onto my Windows computer. I know to write ble.print() in Arduino, but is there another function to send to Windows? I would like the data to be plotted in real time on my computer.

Thank you.

You'll need to find a program that knows how to talk to the BLE hardware, and use that.

BLE doesn't put many restrictions on the kind of data a peripheral device can transmit, so OS developers can't build BLE support into an OS the way they can with Bluetooth Classic (which is highly constrained). All they can do is provide some basic tools for talking to the radio, and leave the job of finding, connecting to, and decoding information from BLE peripherals to a program that knows what kind of messages to send.

Hi Mike, thank you for your reply.

Do you have any recommendations for programs that can talk to the BLE hardware?

I am quite new to this sort of stuff.

The Software Resources page of the Bluefruit tutorials has a list of programs that should work:
