Hi I've been using these USB DIY Slim Connector Shell - A-M Plug for years but lately been having many of them where the cover (overmold) doesn't stay in place: it slides off without any resistance. Normally you press it into place as in the assembled pic then you can plug and unplug it from a USB A female socket. I have been getting many of them now where the overmold slides off if you try to remove it from a socket, or it slides off very easily with just bare fingers on the overmold and the exposed metal. Didn't do this in the past. I haven't changed the way I assemble them.
Any suggestions? Could this be a quality issue? Most recent Order Number is 2090392-5270819551, bought them 7/1/19. Pics attached

Are you seeing the issue with new connectors that haven’t been used much, or with old connectors that have been used for a while?

It happens with brand new connectors immediately after assembly: Many are loose enough that they slide right off with very little resistance, and most come off the first time removing the connector from a female USB socket. I buy these in large quantities, and I've experimented with how far to press the cover onto the metal: I can press the cover on as far as a normal commercial overmold, or farther, with the same results. I've bought over 1700 of these since 2014, usually 100 pcs at a time since, and they've been working fine until order # 2021089-1621039965 received in April 2019.

Thank you. I'll have someone check the ones we have in stock and see if we can duplicate the problem.

hiya all our stock is the same, looks like the molding changed a bit. All we can recommend for now is a dab of glue to keep the housing on while we try to get old-style ones back in stock (no ETA)

OK, thank you for the response. Understanding there is no ETA, is there a way for you to notify me when/if you get the old-style ones back in stock?
