Adafruit 0.56" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display with/I2C Backpack h

by uiaad on Wed Jul 31, 2019 11:42 pm

I will try and be as brief as possible, but I bought Adafruit 0.56" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display with/I2C Backpack and NodeMcu ESP8266 to create a youtube subscriber counter ( https://www.instructables.com/id/YouTube-Subscriber-Counter-With-ESP8266-V2/ ). Everything came, soldered up the backpacks programed the Node, hooked everything up and nothing. I mean the Node will output to serial monitor but nothing to the displays.

I then decided to test out each display one by one and opened up the Seven segment time display example as included with one of the adafruit libraries hooked, programmed the Node once more and hooked up the connections and still nothing. Tested both the displays and I have no idea why its not working.

If any one has any ideas i would be very very greatful :)

Post a picture of the display and the soldering. Do you have any other processors you could test the display with?

Did you run the ic2 scanner on the displays w/backpacks?

https://playground.arduino.cc/Main/sour ... lock&num=1

I am curious as I have three .56 4 digit seven segment displays w/backpacks with the exact same issue and I know my program is working as I can hook up different 1.2" displays using a backpack and get those to work with the test program

The scanner when on mine, (the .56" displays) however, is not finding an ic2 address on any of that size backpacks... so wondering if you have the same issue.
