Connecting LiPo battery and charger directly to nRF BLE modu

by webbis on Sat Aug 03, 2019 5:22 am

Hi, I am new to electronic development and would like to develop a prototype. The product should be as small as possible. That is why I would like to solder the battery and the charger directly to the BLE module. I would like to use the NRF52840-QIAA-R from Nordic Semiconductors.

The battery is a standard LiPo battery. For charging, I would use the Adafruit Micro-Lipo Charger for LiPo/LiIon Batt w/MicroUSB Jack.

Now I do not right know how I should connect the battery and the charger to the BLE module (chip). Should I connect the battery to the charger and only solder the charger to the BLE module? And how should it be connected?

This is the datasheet for the NRF52840: https://www.nordicsemi.com/-/media/DocL ... v11pdf.pdf
and here are the datasheets from ardafruit: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-mic ... /downloads

Kind regards

If the Ble chip can be powered by a LiPo then you would connect the battery to the chip and the charger to the battery. If you are building a product you need to be as small as possible a custom PCB is probably the way to go.
