16mm illuminated push button (part number 1439)

Hi everyone,
I have a question about the wiring of the led push button.

Here’s my wiring of the push button:
+ is connected to a 500ohm resistor in series and connect to 5V
- is connected to GND
For the other two pins on the push button, I wired one side 5V. The other side, goes to pin on the Arduino and a resistor to GND.

What I am seeing is that it’s a normally closed circuit (NC). When I press the button, it goes to 0V. When not pressed, it’s 5V. I read the specs, it supposed to a NO circuit. I can’t find any information on the led button wiring.

But the specification:
"This particular button has a red body and LED and is momentary, normally open. The two switch contacts are not connected normally. When you push the button they will temporarily connect until the button is released. The LED is separated from the button, so you can make it light up when pressed, light up when not pressed, always lit, etc."

How to wire this up for NO circuit?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Peter

Post a photo showing your hardware and connections and we'll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.
