Anemometer component

Post by Richtow8 »

I have a wind sensor with a broken glass part inside so searched for a part and then the anemometer. The one I have, has 2 wires and the one I found here has 3 wires. I can't seem to find any answers that can allow me to comprehend the differences. This is used to activate awning retracting in high winds.

There are lots of ways to make an anemometer, and the number of wires doesn't contain much useful information.

What kind of output signal did your anemometer produce?

I son't know what signal the output is. This is simply to retract an awning. I do have a second one that I could cut/measure if I knew what I was looking for, however, I've been under the impression that they all work the same for this function. There is a broken glass sleeve that had 2 metal overlapping flat pieces within, Those are supported by only the 2 leg wires, off center. The turbine has 2 magnets.

Post a photo showing what you have and we'll take a look. 800x600 images usually work best.
