Push/pull device needed

by RaspberryPiDude314 on Sun May 24, 2020 7:47 pm

For a project I am working on, I require a device that can push-pull objects at least 10 inches.I also don't want to get into hydraulics. Thanks in advance!

Hello RaspberryPiDude314,

That kind of distance would best be solved with some of our stepper motors. We have several guides that can illustrate how to create things that move forward and backwards using steppers.

For linear motion in that range, belts or lead-screws are commonly used. Belt-driven sliders such as the camera slider project linked above are generally capable of higher speeds. Lead-screw based actuators are typically capable of generating more force. The best choice will depend on the requirements of your project.
